Cool links
I just found a cool site for travelers through my friend Brendan, Check out his blog HERE. Anyways, the site is called, Couch Surfing, it's super cool for travelers w/o a lot of cash. Here is their Mission Statement:
What is the CouchSurfing mission?
When we incorporated CouchSurfing International, Inc. as a non-profit, we filed our official mission statement as:
"CouchSurfing seeks to internationally network people and places, create educational exchanges, raise collective consciousness, spread tolerance, and facilitate cultural understanding."
As a community we strive to do our individual and collective parts to make the world a better place, and we believe that the surfing of couches is a means to accomplish this goal. CouchSurfing isn't about the furniture- it's not just about finding free accommodations around the world- it's about participating in creating a better world. We strive to make a better world by opening our homes, our hearts, and our lives. We open our minds and welcome the knowledge that cultural exchange makes available. We create deep and meaningful connections that cross oceans, continents and cultures. CouchSurfing wants to change not only the way we travel, but how we relate to the world!
Alright, I just wanted to share that with you!
Ciao' for now, we'll keep you updated!

Hello, I'm back!
To our not so loyal readers (because you know we don't really have any yet),
I was in Europe this past semester and I wrote a mass email out every Sunday to people. I figured I would put those emails in the next couple of days, so stay updated. I may write some additional entries on my travels too, so if you've already read the email you may want to read again :)
Just a little bit of background on my trip - I was studying for six weeks on a program called Seminar In Europe. The first half of the semester was on campus, studying the history and art of places we were going to see. The second half was seeing them in person. We went to five countries in six weeks: Greece, Italy, Germany, France and England.
Peace out!
Sara
Email from Greece:
Hey Guys!!
Greece is beautiful. Though I have to say, the first day of traveling
was probably the worst I have ever had in my LIFE. The plane to Newark
was turbulent as hell and I ended up throwing up in one of those
airplane bags. Which is gross, but it helps you realize how bad it
was. THEN my bags got lost. I was without luggage for a day, but it
was ok because I had a carry on and my roommate was more than happy to
share her shampoo and stuff.( side note to the readers here. I would ALWAYS recommend bringing at least a day change of clothes if you are going far away. The risk of losing your luggage is too great to just try and wing it. I was lucky I brought like three days worth of outfits just in case, but there were a lot of girls on the trip that did not bring that back up. BRING BACKUP! ) It was more annoying than anything else.
We went to the Parthenon right away, since it was nine in the morning
here when we landed, and it rained ALL DAY. I was soaked from head to
toe, and cold because it was windy. Besides that, it was fun :)
Seriously though, things have been so much better since then. The
weather has been great since that first day and I even got sunburned
today. The monuments are starting to look a little similar, but the
water is such a amazing blue, and the mountains give such a great
view, that everything is exciting. The food is a tiny bit scary since
I don't know what I'm ordering half the time, but today I had grilled
octopus which was actually pretty good. The language barrier here is a
little much, since their alphabet is something I can't even guess at.
But most shop owners speak English, and the restaurants print an
english version of their menu so there hasn't been too big of a
problem....except for when words don't translate and then they can't
really help you food wise. I'm trying new foods though, so you all can
be proud. Today was cool though because we went to an island, and it
ended up getting really windy - like huge wind gusts were throwing
water everywhere and we needed to take a ferry to get home. I got
soaked again, but the whole day was so nice, I don't even care. The
waves were huge though, they were even soaking the street. Thats
another thing though, people drive here like ten times worse then
anywhere in the US. We at least pause for pedestrians, they don't even
hesitate. The rules of the road are VERY relaxed...its like they don't
even exist. Scooters and motorcycles are constantly driving on the
sidewalk and the cars park there too. But don't worry, I'll stay safe.

Until next time!!! (which should be soon...)

Enter the Haggis and The Elders Ireland Tour 2008 (Explanation)
Sorry about that guys! I jumped into that last post without properly explaining what the tour was!
There are two Celtic Rock bands that I enjoy listening to, Enter the Haggis (enterthehaggis.com) and The Elders( eldersmusic.com). These two bands went on a fan tour of Ireland from March 1-March 8th. There was a pre tour(which I went on) that started on the 28th of Febuary. We stopped in Arklow, Dublin, Kilarney and Galway, Ireland.
They played a show every other night. It was a great tour. Met a lot of new people both from the states and from Ireland.
That is what the previous post is about.
Hope this explained it a bit more.
Talk soon!

Enter the Haggis and The Elders Ireland Tour 2008
Hey all this is Ashling.
Just got back from the tour this weekend. I’m still a bit spacey but mostly recovered. I made a lot of good friends in Ireland and had tons of fun. It’s almost impossible to try and explain how great the trip was. I didn’t take many band pictures or video, I took some video and then my cousin is allowing me to steal her pictures to share. I hope that these will show even the small bit of fun that was had.
Hope you’re all doing well and in case I don’t talk to you
HAPPY ST.PATRICK’S DAY!!!!!
This is our bus driver, he was so great.
The first night in Kilarney the guys had a small session in the bar of the hotel, these are some short videos from them.
Last and not least, this is the last song of the entire tour. One of the greatest performances I have seen in awhile. You’ll have to excuse the video, I wasn’t sure where to focus, there was too much to try and show!
Here are some pictures of the guys in action thanks to my cousin Meghan for taking those. The pictures of the guys by themselves and with people are mine.
This is a guy we met in Arklow,Ireland. We ended up becoming such good friends he came to 3/4 shows. He likes to sing, can you tell. Thought you might find it amusing. (:
I'll post some pictures from the actual Scenery pictures later.
I know this is suppose to be a blog about Sara and my Adventures together, but I'm thinking since we are going to be doing a lot of touring on our own too we might as well share our individual journey's.
Sara is about the head off on a 6 week tour of Greece, Italy, Germany, France and England. I'll let her talk more about that though.

What is Get Lost Traveling?
We're two friends who have known each other since the 5th grade. We both share a love of traveling and we both get lost very easily.
We have traveled a few places together and there have a been a few instances where we have gotten lost and then found some great places. Our favorite probably to this day is "Kung Pow Kitty" in California. We're not sure what we're going to do with this blog yet, but come back and hopefully we'll have updated it and you'll be amused and enlightened.
Cheers,
Ashling and Sara
